Assaulted in their home by armed burglars

A MAN and a woman were assaulted at their home in Dines Green by two men during an aggravated burglary.

Police are on the lookout for two men who kncoked on the door of the Drakes Avenue property before carrying out the assault with a hammer and a knife.

The man sustained head and hand injuries and remains in hospital, the woman sustained head injuries which required hospital treatment, she has since been discharged.

The offenders then stole items from the property, including a BSA lightning airgun with a brown leather strap.




PC Liam Mather said: We would like to speak to anyone who was in Tudor Way or Drake Avenue around this time and would also like to speak to the drivers of a black car, a white van and a silver van who were seen to pass the address around the relevant times and may be able to assist with enquiries.
