ASPIRING writers at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College welcomed former county Poet Laureate for a lesson on all things gothic.
Suz Winspear, Worcestershire Poet Laureate from 2016-17, spoke to year 8 pupils who are studying Gothic Literature.
Suz writes and performs gothic poetry which has many different moods and subjects, strange disquieting and is at times humorous.
She talked about her own school experiences which gave her lots of subject matter for her poetry, she read some of her own work and encouraged students to think about their own imaginary monster.
Librarian Linda Bromyard said: “It was an honour to have such a talented poet in college and the students had a good introduction into their own Gothic work.”
