Archbishop set to pay a visit to the city

Worcester Editorial 5th Oct, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

THE ARCHBISHOP of Canterbury will be visiting Worcester on Friday (October 7) and is set to be interviewed by BBC presenter Jeremy Vine at the University Arena.

The Radio 2 presenter will be talking to the Archbishop about his life, his faith journey and how relevant the church continues to be in modern Britain during the interview from 7pm.

It’s expected the leader of the Church of England will also be asked about his views on social justice, climate change and the refugee crisis, as well as the importance of prayer and reflection in his life.

The audience will also be able to submit questions to ask the Archbishop.

Alongside the interview, there will also be a performance from a choir put together from local church schools.

The Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge, said: “This promises to be one of the most exciting events during the Archbishop’s visit and the great news is that everyone is invited.

“Archbishop Justin is always happy to answer questions on a wide range of topics and you can be sure that Jeremy Vine won’t shy away from the challenging ones.

“Plus, if there’s always been something that you’ve wanted to ask the Archbishop of Canterbury, this is a brilliant opportunity to put your question to him directly.”

Tickets cost £5 and are available from www.ticketline.co.uk/the-archbishop-of-canterbury-in-conversation and for more information on the event visit www.cofe-worcester.org.uk/archbishops-visit.
