Anna shows fashion skills

ROYAL Grammar School Worcester pupil Anna Berry has been awarded third place in the prestigious Fashion Icon Competition.

Anna’s entry was selected as one of the ten finalists whose designs were exhibited at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch show at the NEC.

Prior to the competition, year nine RGS Worcester Textile pupils completed a series of inspiring mood boards and design idea pages in preparation for the Fashion Icon competition.

The theme of ‘sustainable fashion using floral elements’ captured the imaginations of the students and each submitted three pieces of work for the aged 13 to 18 age group category.

Isabella Hulbert was awarded a highly commended certificate for her entry and Anna was selected as one of ten finalists to compete at the show.

From her initial idea drawing, Anna went about constructing her design in fabric using complex pattern drafting skills as well as intricate applique and patchwork techniques – each to an incredibly high standard.

Anna’s work will be exhibited at the Creative Arts Faculty evening at RGSW in June.
