An outpouring of support for NHS

Worcester Editorial 9th Jun, 2021   0

WORCESTERSHIRE Acute Hospitals Charity is urging people to join the nation’s biggest tea break on July 5 and help raise money for the incredible people in our NHS.

Following a year like no other, the charity wants as many people as possible to get involved in a national outpouring of love and thanks for NHS staff and volunteers on its birthday by hosting or taking part in an NHS Big Tea at 3pm on the day.

Each event can be in person or virtual, with the community, friends, family or at work, and is a chance to reflect and say thank you for everything that NHS staff and volunteers have done and continue to do, by taking part in the nation’s biggest tea break to raise money for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity.

People can host their own event or they can show their support by taking five minutes to enjoy a tea break, texting £5 to support NHS charities and tagging five friends on social media and calling on them to do the same.

Sophie Burt, head of fundraising and community development for the charity said: “The NHS Big Tea is a wonderful opportunity for our county to come together and celebrate our amazing local Worcestershire NHS heroes.

“As a charity we have so much more to do to help our staff and services recover from the pandemic. By taking part in the NHS Big Tea, either by raising funds or by spreading the word, you will make sure the charity can continue to be there for the staff, patients and services of your local hospitals.
