Air your views on transport blueprint

Worcester Editorial 21st Feb, 2017   0

RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on a major transport blueprint which will shape council chief’s decision-making over the next 13 years.

Only 120 people in Worcestershire have so far had their say on the future of transport in the county, with only four weeks to go until the consultation closes.

The public consultation started in December last year and it runs until Friday, March 17.

Residents views will be gathered to shape Worcestershire County Council’s Local Transport Plan 4 – which will set out aspirations and priorities for the county’s transport network until 2030.

Plans included so far in the draft document for Worcester includes investment in rail, walking, cycling and highways infrastructure.

Coun Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: “We have had over 100 completed questionnaires so far which is encouraging and hundreds of people have attended our ‘pop in’ events.

“The transport network in Worcestershire plays such a vital part in all of our lives and making sure we are Open for Business which is one of our top priorities.

“That’s why it’s so important people have their say on the future of the transport infrastructure in the county and with just over a month left of the consultation, time is running out.”
