A sweet celebration for choir

Worcester Editorial 13th Feb, 2020   0

IT WAS party time for the Sabrina Voices Ladies Choir which celebrated its first birthday with a specially commissioned cake.

The group was founded in February last year by musical director Tom Wells and already 50 women, aged 17 and upwards, have joined its ranks.

He said: “The ladies have done extremely well, singing in a choir really does contribute to our physical and mental well-being.

“We all go away feeling uplifted by our hour together.”

The choir covers a variety of different music genres, ranging from classical to more modern styles.

And the women are hoping more will join the group at a special free open rehearsal being held at 8pm on Tuesday, February 18, at Callow End School.

Tom added: “Ideally, ladies should have some previous knowledge of performing in a choir, but enthusiasm is the most important ingredient.”
