WEST Mercia Police are recruiting people for its Special Constabulary.
A team from the force were at a recent jobs fair to shed some light on roles that not a lot of people know much about unless they are involved in the service.
Special Constabulary Recruiter Mike Barnbrook said: “Specials have the same powers as regular police officers but serve in a voluntary role – today was about educating and informing people about what Specials are and what they do.”
Specials officers work right across the police service in different departments.
He added the force was always looking for Specials who work in a range of policing roles and could even rise through the Special ranks to roles, such as Sergeant and Inspector.
Those applying should be able to offer a minimum of 16 hours a month.
