A smooth ride is healthy option

THIRSTY students in the University of Worcester used pedal power to blend delicious fruit smoothies during an event to promote healthy eating on campus.

The Bike and Blend event was held in partnership with One Water and Aramark, a leading provider of food services to universities and educational institutions throughout the UK.

Richard Arnell, Aramark Regional Director said, “Smoothies are an easy way to consume the recommended five-a-day fruit and veg. Our Bike and Blend event was a fun way to show students that it is possible to eat healthily without too much effort.”

“We had a phenomenal reaction with queues forming for the bikes and many new flavour combinations developed for our pedal powered fruit smoothies!

“The message hit home that eating healthy foods that provide the best nutrition, combined with exercise, can really help to improve concentration and reduce stress levels, leading to better exam results and a more positive university experience”.

“There is a fabulous community spirit on the campus and there is a thriving social, cultural and sporting environment throughout the University of Worcester.”
