A TASTE of China was on offer at Christopher Whitehead Language College as staff and students celebrated Chinese New Year, the year of the dog.
The St John’s school hosted an Intensive Learning Mandarin Day and the students involved in the classes all day were primarily year seven students, some from Queen Mary’s Grammar school, in Walsall.
The day started with a welcome ceremony and all students were presented with traditional red envelopes given to Chinese children at New Year. These are usually filled with money, but the students received chocolate coins instead.
