AN INSPIRATIONAL vicar who is battling cancer is set to be at the forefront of people’s minds when a city church hosts a 24 hour prayer this weekend.

Residents in Worcester are being invited to Rainbow Hill Baptist Church for the special event which takes place between 9am tomorrow (Saturday) and 9am on Sunday (October 20).

People can visit at any time during the 24 hours where there will be to access help stations for those who are unsure how to pray and there will also be a number of activities to take part in.

Susan Martyr, member of Christ Church in Tolladine, said the event will offer a chance for people to think about Rev Peter Haddleton of St Barnabas and Christ Church who is currently being treated for the illness.

“Peter has touched a lot of people’s lives over the years. He is an inspiring person as he is very caring and he listens to people,” she added.
