Poppet in need of loving home

Worcester Editorial 5th Oct, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A WORCESTER kennel is desperate to find a home for one of their rescued dogs who is allergic to the cleaning chemicals they use.

The Senior Staffy Club is looking for a place for ten-year-old Poppet, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who was brought to them three weeks ago from a shelter having been found on the street.

Her feet became inflamed and sore from the cleaners used in the kennels and this allergic reaction has become infected.

The dog had not received any vet treatment while at the shelter and was in ‘a bad state’ when she arrived at the rescue, she is now on antibiotics but would benefit from a stable home and away from the kennel environment.

The club is open to offers for temporary foster care of Poppet or an adoption.

Kate Lee one of the charity trustees says “Poppet is a firm favourite of our volunteers at the kennels, who say she is loving and sweet and adores her cuddles.

“She is tiny and has fur like velvet. She gets on your lap and will sit there all day just watching the world go by.”

Poppet needs a pet free home and any children should be more than ten-years-old.

She may need further visits to the vet, but the Senior Staffy Club has offered to cover the cost.
