Harvest boosts city

Worcester Editorial 21st Oct, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

THE CITY’S foodbank and a homeless centre in Worcester have received a boost after a city school pulled off a successful harvest festival.

A vast array of fresh vegetables, cakes and tinned food were brought in by parents and carers of pupils at Northwick Manor Primary School last Friday (October 17).

Two lots of 300 children attended St Stephen’s Church for the harvest festival service which was led by Rev Canon Dr Stuart Currie.

All the food which was collected on the day will be distributed to Worcester Foodbank, Magg’s Day Centre and the Women’s Refuge.

Sarah Stanley, assistant head teacher, said: “This was a very worthwhile event and we are extremely grateful of the children and their parents and carers for providing such lovely food.”
