CROWDS flocked to the University of Worcester Area for the city’s first-ever ‘comic-con’ event.

Locals and visitors from all across the country packed into the area to meet stars from some of the most cult TV shows from around the world.

And many dressed to impress for the occasion with ‘cosplay’ to pay homage to their favourite characters.

Among the stars in attendance were Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Hatitie Hayridge from Red Dwarf fame and former Dr Who Peter Davidson.

Stall holders from across the country showed their support for the show and organisers told the Observer they were so thrilled with the turn-out they hoped to make it an annual event.

Gina Hey from Mad Max and Farscape fame said: “What a beautiful city, I can’t believe it was Worcester’s first ever comic-con event as there has been such a massive turn out of local people.”
