Care home fete helps top cause

KIND-HEARTED staff and residents at a city care home have hosted a summer fête to raise money for a cause that is close to their hearts.

Northwick Grange Care Home, on Old Northwick Lane, held the event on August 11 in aid of Lennox Children’s Cancer Charity, who help youngsters who are suffering with the disease.

The 25 residents along with their friends and family raised £120, as part of the homes activities fund, through cake stalls, a tombola and traditional fairground games such as hook a duck. The visitors were also able to see some vintage vehicles, including an mg midget and a bsa motorbike.

Debbie Cross, activities co-ordinator at Northwick Grange, said: “It was a fantastic day and I want to thank everyone who came along and made it such a success.

“The residents’ activity fund is a vital part of life at Northwick Grange and contributes towards days out as well as special visitors and events here at the home. It is all about offering the best quality of life alongside outstanding care.

“However, Lennox Children’s Cancer Charity is a cause close to the hearts of several of our staff and residents generously agreed to let us split the proceeds of the fête with them.”
