Your chance to plan future care at free seminar

Worcester Editorial 23rd Apr, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A CARE home is inviting the people of Worcester to find out more about planning future care.

Perry Manor care home, on Charles Hastings Way, is hosting the seminar with Perdeep Asi, financial planner at Ashcourt Rowan, today (Friday) at 11am until 12.30pm.

The free event will provide guidance on funding long term care whether it is for someone in their own home or looking at residential homes.

Copies of Care UK’s Listen, Talk, Connect will be available for attendees to take home. The guide helps friends and relatives over come the challenges they may face in having a conversation and general interaction with those living with dementia.

Visitors can also take the opportunity to look at around Perry Manor and meet their team, who provide full time residential, nursing and dementia care.

The home is rated one of the best in the area according to the Your Care Rating survey carried out earlier this year.

Home manager, Mike Dearn, said: “It was recently revealed that by 2030 there will be more than two million people aged 65 and over in the UK with no child living nearby to give care if needed. This means more and more people will be worrying about the future care of loved ones and, of course, how the care is going to be funded is one of the most important practical considerations.

“At Care UK, we understand that having access to the right information and clearly delivered advice can help families make sense of the options available to them. We have therefore invited Perdeep along to lead this free seminar at Perry Manor. As a trusted professional with a wealth of experience in matters surrounding the funding of care, we are sure Perdeep will help to transform the experiences of many who are looking into planning care for the future.”
