Worcester City aiming for the double

Craig Gibbons 16th Mar, 2018

WORCESTER City head to Loughborough University this weekend hoping to secure a Midland League Premier Division double over their Leicestershire hosts.

John Snape’s Blue and Whites won the previous encounter 2-1 at the Victoria Ground back in August, thanks to goals from Alexandru Albert and Mark Danks.

The Scholars lie in 18th and have won just one of their last ten league games, losing the rest.

After Saturday’s trip to Shepshed Dynamo was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, it means fifth-placed City have a third of their season left to play between now and the end of April.

City head into the Loughborough clash on the back of Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Shawbury United at the Victoria Ground.
