WORCESTER Wolves have announced the signing of highly-rated centre Andreas Schreiber following his release from the Plymouth Raiders.
To make way for the signing Wolves have also confirmed Ian Salter, who joined the club in the summer, has been released.
Schreiber, who is 6ft 10ins tall, featured prominently for the south coast franchise last season under former head coach Gavin Lowe’s leadership and scored thirteen points and nine rebounds in each outing.
Born in Santa Cruz in California, the 26-year-old moved to Sweden at an early age and has represented the country at national level.
Schreiber goes straight into the Wolves squad for Friday night’s BBL Cup home clash against the Manchester Giants.
Worcester Wolves director of basketball Paul James said: “Andreas has shown that he can be very productive in the BBL. He will be a major asset on the frontline for us. I’m delighted that he is joining us.
“It’s unfortunate that Ian could not find more minutes on the court. I want to thank him for his contribution while he has been here.”
