ARGENTINA international Leonardo Senatore has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

The 29-year-old picked up the injury in the closing stages of Worcester Warriors’ 21-20 defeat to Harlequins two weeks ago.

And director of rugby Dean Ryan confirmed Senatore would not feature in Worcester’s final six games of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.

The Warriors boss also revealed Dean Hammond could be out for up to six weeks as he recovers from a torn hamstring, which he sustained against Quins.

But Ryan believes he has enough options to cover Hammond’s position, with centre Andy Symons set to make his return from a broken collarbone when Worcester Cavaliers take on the Army at Sixways tomorrow night (Wednesday, 7.30pm).

“Leo’s injury was pretty serious and he had an operation on it two or three days ago, so he will miss the remainder of the season,” Ryan said.

“Dean Hammond will be out for four to six weeks with a hamstring issue so injuries are stacking up.

“But we will get a few back as there will be a chance to see Andy Symons play tonight and he can force his way back into contention.

“We have also seen Max Stelling play on the wing, which gives us some different choices.”

Meanwhile, Ryan said preparations were now underway ahead of Warriors’ must-win Aviva Premiership clash against London Wasps on Friday, March 21.

“The physical demands have been huge, so we took the opportunity to give the players a bit of time away,” he added.

“But we now see this week as teeing up Wasps and nobody is hiding away from how important that game is for us.

“We want to get some work in early with having this extra week so we can give ourselves the best chance of winning against Wasps.”
