Warriors discover Euro ties

Worcester Editorial 28th Jun, 2019   0

WARRIORS will face trips to France, Wales and Russia in next season’s European Challenge Cup following the draw held in Switzerland.

Alan Solomons’ men were drawn in Pool One alongside Top 14 side Castres, Dragons of the Pro-14 and Enisei-STM, who qualified through last season’s European Continental Shield.

Warriors drew Dragons and Enisei-STM in the same pool in the 2016/17 Challenge Cup – beating both at Sixways but losing on the road.

Castres will become the 13th French club Warriors have played in European competition. Castres were losing finalists in this competition in 2000 and semi-finalists in the Heineken Cup two years later.

Dates for the European Challenge Cup matches have yet to be confirmed.

The final will be played in Marseille on May 22.
