VALKYRIES duo Rochelle Clark and Lydia Thompson have been named in England Women’s 28-player squad for this summer’s World Cup in Ireland.
Clark will take part in her fourth consecutive World Cup when the tournament kicks off in Dublin on Wednesday, August 9. The game’s most-capped international has appeared in every one since 2006.
The 36-year-old prop is joined by winger Thompson and former Warriors community coach Tamara Taylor, who is also set for her fourth consecutive World Cup.
England, who are the current title holders having defeated Canada to lift the trophy in France, in 2014, have been drawn against Spain, Italy and the USA in Pool B.
Following a successful three-Test tour in New Zealand, where the Red Roses overcame Australia, Canada and the Black Ferns, head coach Simon Middleton’s side go into the competition ranked number one in the world.
England start their World Cup campaign against Spain at the UCD Bowl on Wednesday, August 9, and all their games will be broadcast live on ITV.
