PHIL Trainer has become Worcester City’s fourth signing within the space of two weeks.
Trainer left Telford in the summer and had been in talks with City about a potential move, but opted to go to Nuneaton instead, where his opportunities were limited and found himself excluded from the 16-man squad.
City manager Carl Heeley made another move for the midfielder this week and he made his debut in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Gainsborough Trinity.
Heeley said: “It is something I had been talking to Kev Wilkin about for the last week or so and then we realised mid morning it was possible to get it through in time for the Gainsborough match.
“Considering that it was Phil’s first real football this season, it is credit to his fitness levels that he got through the 90 minutes. He is a great player for us at this level and will just get better and better.”
