CRICKET-lovers can watch six England Test players in action when the Lions take on India A at Blackfinch New Road in a four-day match starting on Monday.
Former Test captain and England’s record run-scorer Alastair Cook, Dawid Malan, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Dominic Bess and Jack Leach are the full Test internationals who are part of the team named by the national selectors.
Essex batsman Cook has amassed an incredible 12,145 runs from 156 Tests with 32 centuries at an average of 45.65.
Warwickshire all-rounder Woakes is to use the match as part of his rehabilitation from his injured right quad and knee.
The remainder of the side is made up of Rory Burns, Nick Gubbins, Ollie Pope, Matthew Fisher and Jamie Porter.
If selected for England’s third ODI at Headingley on July 17, Curran will miss the Lions match and a replacement will be called up.
A captain will be announced on the morning of the game.
India A have just competed with the Lions and West Indies A in a Tri-Series 50-over competition.
