Taundry leaves ahead of Guiseley clash

WORCESTER City will be without Richard Taundry for tomorrow’s (Saturday) Skrill Conference North game at Guiseley after the midfielder opted to join Solihull Moors.

The ex-Walsall skipper has been out of the side during City’s recent good form and advised the management team after Thursday’s training session that Solihull had made him a more lucrative offer and assurance of playing each week.

Manager Carl Heeley has been handed a double boost, however, after the club signed goalkeeper Matt Bulman to provide competition for the number one shirt with Jose Veiga, and on-loan Kidderminster defender Jamie Grimes extended his stay until April.

The Blue and Whites have had a ten-day gap since their last outing, a 3-1 home success against The Moors, and can close the gap on 10th placed Guiseley to just three points with victory in Yorkshire.

The scheduled home fixture against Stockport County last Saturday (February 1) fell victim to the weather, but nevertheless Worcester have won four of their last five and will go into the game in high spirits.

Guiseley, on the other hand, have lost three of their last four league games and haven’t played a fixture at Nethermoor Park since December 21.

A pitch inspection is set to take place at 9am tomorrow morning to see if the game can go ahead.
