A TOTAL of 25 pairs competed in Bransford’s Secureitall Trophy which produced a fairly comfortable win for the duo of David Lamb and Dave Broad.

They finished the day on 49 points, three ahead of three other combinations – Neil Pask and Mitchell Smart, Maks Wyard and Ian Bowman and Brian Ballard and Paul Turner.

Father and son pairing of Norton and Mitch Fowells returned a score of 44 and then came Mark Tipton and Andy Kennedy, Nigel Perry and Jason Beck and Harry Chadwick and Carl Wiltshire each on 43.

It took a card count-back decide who won the seniors’ Cyril Lee Trophy with the honour eventually going to Paul Edlin.

Edlin, who plays off 24, finished with 39 points, as did Paul Curnock (32).

All in all the top of the leader board was a tight-run affair with four other golfers just a point behind – Chris Griffin (31), Rob Blake (15), Trevor Atkinson (16) and Gerry McCurry (24).

Edlin finished the day with four pars to Curnock’s two. Griffin also had four pars, Blake six and he also birdied the tricky par five sixth, Atkinson had seven pars and McCurry six.
