A WORCESTER student took his place on the podium after securing second place in his category at the 42nd British Open Knockdown Tournament.
Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College student Jakub Wasilewki represented Great Britain in the Cadet Boys Lightweight under 18-years-old upto 68kg in the tournament last weekend.
The competition is incorporated with 10th Cup of Europe in Kyokushinkai Karate and was held at Crawley K2 Leisure Centre.
After four fights Jakub earned his place on the podium watched by supporters and proud family members.
The British Karate Kyokushinkai, established in 1965, has seen steady progression in size and ability of one of the most respected karate organisations in Britain.
