WARRIORS will return to the scene of their Premiership Rugby Cup final triumph with a trip to London Irish on the opening weekend of the Gallagher Premiership campaign.
Steve Diamond’s men will kick off the 2022/23 season at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday, September 10 in a repeat of the clash in May when Warriors picked up their first major silverware.
Following their trip to the capital, Warriors have back-to-back home games against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday September 18 in front of the BT Sport cameras and Newcastle Falcons on September 24.
A trip down the M5 to face Gloucester follows before the first batch of Premiership Rugby clashes ends with the visit of Harlequins to Sixways on October 8.
Warriors will travel to Coventry to face Wasps over the Christmas period while Irish will make the trip to Sixways as 2022 gives way to 2023. The exact dates of both fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
The curtain will come down on another league campaign at Sixways with Bristol Bears visit at the end of April while Warriors end the season with a clash with Bath at The Rec on the first weekend in May.
The Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures have also been released and Warriors will begin the defence of their title away to Gloucester on either September 20 or 21 in Pool A of the competition.
Diamond’s men will also face Bath, Bristol and Exeter in the pool stages as Warriors seek to retain the trophy won so memorably in May.
In addition to the games on BT Sport or PRTV Live, there will be seven matches this season, including the final on May 28, on ITV.
The final will be on the ITV main channel for the first time as Premiership Rugby chiefs hope to top the 1.3 million viewers who tuned into the 2022 final last month.
The seven ITV Sport fixtures will be announced at a later date.
Despite plans in place for the league to expand to 14 teams, Ealing Trailfinders, who topped the Championship, and second-placed Doncaster Knights were denied the chance to go up after the Rugby Football Union ruled the clubs had not met the minimum standards criteria for promotion, including suitable facilities.
As a result, for the second season running, no team will face relegation from the Premiership next summer with the prospect of relegation not returning until the 2023-24 campaign.
