HEAD coach Carl Hogg insisted his players must show character and fighting spirit to restore confidence over the next month of cup fixtures.
The former Melrose, Edinburgh and Scotland back row is desperately looking to build momentum within his squad as the club hover a single point above basement side Bristol in the Aviva Premiership.
But entering a four-game cup run, Hogg saw his side suffer a last minute 17-14 defeat to Brive in the European Challenge Cup on Saturday, resulting in elimination from the tournament.
Warriors, who currently sit bottom of Pool C with eight points, end the competition this Saturday with a home tie against Russian minnows Enisei-STM, before facing Harlequins and Cardiff Blues in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
Hogg has urged his side to lay some solid foundations in these fixtures in the hope it will help turn their Premiership season around.
“Everyone is clearly hurting and it’s about building resolve and laying foundations over the next month to take us forward,” said Hogg.
“We need to turn it around. We’ve got our last European match and two Anglo-Welsh games coming up, so we need to build momentum and get some confidence back in the side.
“It’s about calling on the character of the group and the fighting spirit within the group to stay strong and battle through.
“When you look at the structures in place at this club, they will ensure our long-term future is a successful one. There has been a high level of investment behind the scenes.
“Our academy structure is one of the best in the country and we’re starting to produce the likes of Jamie Shillcock, Jack Singleton, Josh Adams and Perry Humphreys.
“We now have to find some form and we’ll use the next month to do that.”
