WORCESTER Warriors have tempted another key man behind the scenes at Aviva Premiership champions Northampton Saints to join their backroom staff.

Chris Hart has decided to end his six-year spell at Franklin’s Gardens to take on the role of head of strength and conditioning at Sixways ahead of next season.

He follows in the footsteps of high performance director Nick Johnston who also quit Saints for Worcester and Hart said he was relishing the challenge at Warriors, who will be aiming to secure an immediate return to the top flight.

“I am delighted to join Warriors and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the backroom team to develop a programme which will help players achieve their athletic potential,”

“It is an exciting challenge to be involved in the project here and I will be aiming to implement a programme which will help move the players forward in terms of their athletic development.”

Hart joins senior strength and conditioning coach Scott Pearson, strength and conditioning coach Ryan Fisher and sports scientist Kyle Fisher in the department, while Warriors have also brought in Will Whitney, Samuel Coe and Richard Westman as long-term athlete development coaches.

Johnston added: “It is a testament to the project we have started here that we were able to recruit somebody who was working with last season’s Aviva Premiership winners. Chris is very experienced in his area of expertise and will bring an extensive knowledge from his time with Northampton.

“By ensuring we have an effective set-up behind the scenes, we are confident that we will see the results on the pitch when the new season begins.”
