TOP-FLIGHT motorcycle grass track racing, which for many years provided a spectacular finale to the Three Counties Show, returns to Malvern on Sunday.
A special one-off meeting called The Castlemorton Classic, organised by John Banner and Carl Pugh of locally-based JCR Promo Grass Track Club, takes place at Mill Farm, Gloucester Road in Castlemorton, just a stone’s throw away from the prestigious showground.
Around 100 of the country’s top solo and sidecar competitors will converge on the site for the only meeting of its type to take place in the UK this weekend.
There will be a fair sprinkling of local riders involved, including Adam Hawker and Darren Phillips both from Malvern. Hawker is currently lying fourth in the National 250cc Grading List, whilst Phillips is the younger son of Spring Lane Sand and Gravel merchant Dave Phillips.
Admission is £10, with accompanied under-16s free. For more information, visit www.johnbanner.uk and follow the link “Castlemorton Classic”.
