WORCESTER Raiders will be hoping for more home comforts against Bradford Town after reaching seventh heaven in the demolition of Chipping Sodbury Town.

Karl Gormley’s men welcome the Wiltshire outfit to Sixways on Saturday (March 4) after a 7-0 victory ended a two-game losing streak in style and move back into third place in the Hellenic Premier Division.

After drawing a blank in their last two matches, Raiders rediscovered their shooting boots in some style with a Saturday afternoon romp in front of a near 300-strong crowd.

Raiders were on top from the first kick against Chipping Sodbury and Louis Monaghan opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour.

Bailey Fuller notched his first goal in Raiders colours some eight minutes later before Isaac Cooper turned from provider to scorer to make it three with a fine finish into the bottom corner.

The visitors began the second half brighter with Jordan Lawrence testing Ryan Young from just outside box before Monaghan made it two for the day and four for Raiders with a strike into the top left corner.

Three goals in six minutes wrapped up an afternoon to remember for Raiders, with Jordan Murphy stepping up to slot home from the penalty spot.

Walsall loanee Shay Willock then bagged a brace with a low effort on 84 minutes followed by a tap-in from five yards on 89 minutes to make it 7-0.

Malvern Town host Shrivenham on Saturday looking to bounce back after two defeats in five days in league and cup.

A 2-1 defeat to Mangotsfield United last Tuesday in the Wiseman Lighting Floodlit Cup was followed by a ‘bad day at the office’ in a 3-0 loss to Thornbury Town on Saturday.

The defeat was the Hillsiders’ first in the league since the end of October and meant they conceded their leadership of the Hellenic League Premier.

Title-chasing rivals Cribbs returned to the summit following a 4-0 victory over Fairford Town and now lead Malvern by a point and with two games in hand.

Worcester City travel to Uttoxeter Town at the weekend after they also endured an afternoon to forget as Darlaston Town came away from Claines Lane with the spoils after a 4-0 win.

An evenly-contested opening swung in the favour of the visitors on 25 minutes when City’s Haydn Whitcombe was shown a straight red card after sliding to clear a long ball and fouling Darlaston forward Jack Downing, according to the referee.

A brace from Lewis Gill and goals from Dominic Dell and Tyler Bruck past young keeper Dom Hill sealed the three points for the Walsall outfit.

Defeat keeps City 17th in the Midland Premier Division ahead of the trip to Staffordshire side Uttoxeter who sit below City in 19th.
