Eyers wins in tense finale

BRANSFORD’S September Stableford produced some excellent golf and an extremely tight finish.

The event went to a card countback to determine that Chris Eyers (5) had just pipped Dave Lewis (9) after both had finished with 42 points, four ahead of third-placed Andy Kennedy (11).

Eyers won Division One with one eagle, four birdies and eight pars.

Meanwhile, the honours in Division Two went to Neil Pask (15), with his one birdie and nine pars enough to see off the challenge of Jason Keane (18) who was three points in arrears and Rob Turner (19).

Andy Lammas, who plays off 6, was fourth on 38 in Division One, the same score as Ian Bowman (12), while Steve Thompson (12) was a point further in arrears.

Other top scores in Division Two were Rob Turner (19) 36, Mike Madden (18) 35 and Adrian Lewis (22) 34.

Gloucestershire side Puckrup Hall were seeking a win when they entertained Bransford in a seniors match, having suffered a whitewash when they played at the local venue midway between Worcester and Malvern.

As for Bransford, they were seeking a better result than On recent travels having lost successive fixtures and perhaps, in the end, a 3-3 draw was the right result.
