CITY boss Chris Cornes has kicked off a summer revamp of his Blue and Whites squad with a trio of new faces ahead of the new Hellenic League Premier campaign.

Robbie Thompson-Brown, Adam Mace and Calvin Dinsley have signed for the Claines Lane outfit as Cornes plots a promotion push for his charges.

The trio have now been joined by Kirk Layton, Logan Stoddart, Reiss Taylor-Randle, Zaq Hussain and Dylan Hart.

Attack-minded midfielder Thompson-Brown was most recently with Boldmere St Michaels who won promotion from the Midland Football League during the 2021/2022 season and finished ninth in the Northern Premier League – Midlands last season.

The former Kidderminster Harriers, Halesowen Town, Stourbridge and Bromsgrove Sporting player also captained Boldmere last season.

“I am really excited with the plans for the club, it’s a club on the up and I’m excited to be a part of it, looking forward to winning games, scoring goals and meeting the Worcester faithful,” said Thompson-Brown.

Full-back Mace was previously with Evesham United and captained them last season. He also played for Bishops Cleeve where he was club captain and Slimbridge.

“I felt it was the right time to move on from my previous club ansd after meeting with Chris there was no doubt where my next destination was,” he said.

“I’ve played against the club a few times and the following is superb so I’m looking forward to getting under way and helping get us all where we want to be.”

Worcester-born and bred Dinsley ended last season at Yate Town and previously had spells at Harriers, Hereford United and Redditch United.

“I grew up in Worcester so I know what a big non-league club this is. After speaking with the gaffer in the summer it was clear they have big plans which I’m excited to be a part of,” he said.

A delighted Cornes highlighted the new trio’s experience at higher levels in the non-league pyramid.

“Robbie has bags of experience from levels above throughout his career so far and a CV full of promotions,” he said.

“He’s a technically gifted player who can dictate games from start to finish.

“Robbie is a great lad on and off the pitch and has a winning mentality I hope sweeps through the squad this season.

“Macey is a massive signing for us, he’s a leader on and off the pitch.

“He’s brilliant in the dressing room and around the club, I’ve no doubt he will quickly become a fan favourite.

“He will be integral to what we are trying to achieve on and off the pitch this season.

“Dinno I think is a major coup for us at the club. He was at Step Three last season playing for Yate.

“His experience at higher levels will be invaluable for the team throughout this season.

“He can control games from central midfield and demands high standards from players around him.”
