City young guns net glory

Rob George 13th May, 2017

YOUNG Worcester City stars got their hands on the highly-rated ESF Festival Of Football Trophy at Butlins.

City’s under 13 side won the tournament by defeating local rivals Kidderminster Harriers and Central Warwickshire/Birmingham Premier champions Colron Boys and only conceded one goal on the way to winning the tournament.

The lads secured the tournament win with a game to spare, playing the last game out to a draw, taking in the applause from the watching crowd.

Other teams in the tournament were HPR Midlands Academy, Ardley United, Port Tennant Colts, Minehead Youth and Kidderminster Harriers MJPL.

The under 13s will now play in a European tournament on July 8 and 9 at St George’s Park, the home of the English football team.
