City duo snapped up by AFC Telford United

WORCESTER City duo Ryan Rowe and Rob Elvins have been snapped up by ambitious AFC Telford United.

The Bucks, who recently appointed former Hednesford Town boss Rob Smith to take the helm, are currently bottom of the pile in the National League North and have moved quickly to try and address their position.

Having already seen Darren Campion make the move from Aggborough to New Bucks Head this season, Elvins has decided to leave the Blue and Whites again after the former captain re-signed for Worcester from Solihull Moors towards the back end of last season.

Rowe was only brought in by City in the summer after impressing with Brackley Town and made a decent start to life at Aggborough, bagging two goals in the first two games, but the arrivals of Lee Hughes, Shaun Harrad, Deon Burton and Ashley Vincent have reduced Rowe’s playing time.

He had not been included in the squad of 16 for the previous two encounters.

Elvins’ departure also coincides with the return of midfielder Dean Waldron, who had been out on loan at Halesowen Town.

The moves mean the pair will not be available for selection as Worcester make the trip to Corby Town tomorrow (Saturday) looking for their first away win of the season.

Carl Heeley’s and Matt Gardiner’s men remain one spot off the bottom having won just once all season, but will he hopeful of claiming a result against a Town side who have not won in five.
