Bruzulier delighted to win silverware

SCRUM half JB Bruzulier admitted the experience of losing in the Aviva A League final helped Worcester Warriors claim the British & Irish Cup crown on Friday.

Bruzulier led the Worcester Cavaliers side which lost 27-19 to Saracens Storms on a wet evening in January.

The 22-year-old admitted the memories came flooding back when the rain came down at Castle Park but on this occasion Worcester rose to the challenge and secured an emphatic 35-5 victory over Doncaster thanks to tries from Dean Hammond, Alex Grove, Bruzulier and Dan George.

“It was amazing for the boys and the club,” Bruzulier said. “For us to come here with the fans we had and perform like that it was just amazing, especially after the A League final which we lost. But we learnt from that.

“The first thing that I did when the weather came in was have a chat with the boys and I said ‘in the first 20 minutes against Sarries we did this, this and this wrong. We have prepared all week for this’ and it worked as we came out with the win.”

Players involved in the Cavaliers and B&I Cup campaign have lost just once all season and Bruzulier, who has made just one substitute appearance in the Championship, believes their success can push the first team regulars on.

“We have worked really hard this year,” he added. “Not many of us have had first team games which has been tough. But we went out there, we enjoyed it and the experience we had with the crowd was awesome.

“The feeling you have at the end is really rewarding and hopefully we can push the first team boys on for a bigger win in the play-offs coming up.”
