HOME-grown scrum half Jonny Arr and Fijian centre Ravai Fatiaki have penned new deals to remain at Sixways.

The announcement comes as another boost for Worcester Warriors who are currently battling to retain their status in the Aviva Premiership.

Arr, who has made 137 appearances for his hometown club, follows fellow long-serving players Alex Grove and Chris Pennell to commit their futures to Warriors.

After graduating from the club’s academy, the former RGS Worcester pupil made his debut against London Irish in 2007 before going on to become a key figure in Worcester’s squad. He was notably named Player-of-the-Year in 2011 after helping his side to the RFU Championship title that year.

Arr said: “I’m really pleased to sign a new contract to be part of the club’s future. I have enjoyed my time here and have no doubt there are good times in front of us.  It’s not been an easy season but things have progressed rapidly behind the scenes and I am confident this club will be successful.”

Fatiaki has also decided to extend his stay at Sixways having made 30 appearances for Warriors since arriving in 2011.

The 26-year-old said: “I am very pleased to have signed a new contract at Warriors. I enjoy playing my rugby at Sixways and believe the club is moving in the right direction. Warriors brought me to England and I feel a strong connection with the club.”

Director of rugby Dean Ryan added: “It is fantastic to see Jonny and Ravai commit their future to Warriors as we look to take the club to the next level.

“They are both talented individuals and I know this news will be welcomed by everyone associated with the club.”
