A CREW from Malvern were among the firefighters who took part in the rescue of a one tonne Herefordshire bull from the River Teme.

The incredi-bull incident took place yesterday (Tuesday) when two bulls slipped down the embankment and into the deep water.

Their owner was able to rescue one of the animals but the second was stranded on the far bank with no possible access.

Animal rescue team from Bromyard along with a water first responder team from Malvern and a boat crew from Evesham were sent to the incident.

Belmont Farm and Equine Vets were on the scene to ensure the welfare of the bull was maintained during the rescue.

Weighing 1.1tonnes, the bull was assisted down river using the boat to a safe place where it could stand.

He was then able to walk to the side and out of the river before a short walk back to the farm buildings where the vet was able to give him a full check over.

The bull was uninjured and will soon be back out in the field.
