A DELEGATION from South-East China recently visited Worcester to forge closer business and cultural links with the Faithful City.

The 10 Chinese visitors, made up of government officials and business representatives from Huizhou, arrived in Worcestershire on Monday (December 12).

They stopped off in the city as part of their European tour, with the purpose of their visit to progress links between China and the county.

Mayor Coun Paul Denham and Coun Adrian Gregson, Leader of Worcester City Council, took the delegation on a tour of the city, taking in the magnificent Cathedral, Friar Street and the Riverside. The Mayor then welcomed the guests to the Guildhall Parlour.

Coun Adrian Gregson said: “We were delighted to show off Worcester’s heritage to the delegation, and to discuss potential investment opportunities in the city.

“The Chinese visitors were particularly impressed by the Mayor’s regalia in the Guildhall.”
