A POPULAR sandwich shop chain will be opening the doors of its Worcester store on Tuesday.

Pret A Manger, known for its fresh handmade food and organic teas and coffees, will be opening its first shop in Worcester at 59-60 on the High Street.

The new shop boasts seating areas for more than 170 customers across two floors, free Wifi and a menu of sandwiches, baguettes, salads, snacks, hot food and sweet treats. All fresh items will be made in the shop kitchen each day by kitchen leader Kieran and his team.

The shop will also serve a large range of organic teas, coffees and hot chocolates, alongside freshly made smoothies and frappes.

Aldino Vieira Leca, general manager at the new shop, said: “Our fantastic new team are trained and ready and we can’t wait to open Pret’s doors in Worcester for the first time.

“To celebrate the opening and help our customers meet the new team, we’re going to open the shop for a sneak peek on Monday, September 11 from 7.30am. The first 400 customers through the door will receive breakfast on us.

“As part of Pret’s commitment to help alleviate the pressures of homelessness in the UK, our shop is also very proud to be partnering with local homeless organisations in Worcester where we will be donating unsold food at the end of each day.

“It is great to know that the food we’re hand-making fresh in our shop every day will not only be enjoyed by customers, but will also be donated to such worthwhile places once we close in the evenings.”

The shop is still looking for two more homeless organisations to donate to. Interested charities can contact the Pret Foundation Trust via [email protected].
