PET owners in Worcester are being urged to save the date for a popular dog show that last year raised more than £2,000 for charity.
After the success of its event in 2025, Severn Veterinary Centre will be holding another fun dog show at Worcester Woods Country Park on Sunday May 17.
It promises to be lots of fun for pooches and owners alike and rosettes and prizes will be awarded across a number of classes, including cutest puppy, best golden oldie, best rescue, most impressive trick, waggiest tail and best biscuit catcher. Entries can be made on the day.
During the show there will be a display by a dog training group and opportunities to shop for pet products, crafts and local goods.
Last year’s dog show raised £1,100 for Midlands Air Ambulance, and a further £1,100 was donated to the charity by VetPartners, the larger veterinary group Severn Veterinary Centre is part of.
This year’s dog show will be held in support of Vetlife, a charity providing support to people in the veterinary community and their families who are experiencing emotional, health or financial concerns, and once again VetPartners will match the total amount raised.
Nursing assistant Hannah Surridge, who is helping organise the dog show, said: “The dog show promises to be a fun day out for all the family and everyone who came last year told us how much they’d enjoyed it. We hope to see lots of entries in the classes and there really is something for everyone, so dogs of all ages and breeds can take part.
“We’re also delighted to be raising money for Vetlife this year, because it does incredible work to help and support people who work in the veterinary industry who may be going through a difficult time.”
