WORCESTER’S Script Haven has been named one of the country’s best independent bookshops.
The Worcester High Street venue has been ranked number three on the UK’s best independent bookshops, which was published by The Times.
The Times published its picks for the best independent bookshops before allowing people across the country to have their say.
Script Haven on Worcester High Street opened in August and has since helped support over 100 independent authors and artists by giving them a space to house their work and have it noticed.
Shop owners have also transformed the area into a safe space and community hub as well as hosting fund-raisers for many local causes.
The Times praised the shop for making a point of promoting local writers and small presses alongside established names and imprints.
Script Haven has recently launched a bid to ensure it can house the Faithful City’s ever-growing list of creative works.
However, the shop’s rapid growth has left it struggling to provide space for more authors to house their books.
