WORCESTER has voted for Labour’s candidate for police and crime commissioner, Richard Overton ahead of Conservative incumbent chief John Campion, it has been revealed.
Mr Overton won 8,323 votes compared to Mr Campions 6,466 votes, which was only good enough for second place.
The full announcement for who will be West Mercia’s police and crime commissioner will be revealed later.
In total, 34 per cent of the electorate turned out to vote for the police and crime commissioner, compared to 21.72 per cent of the entire of West Mercia.
