Worcester Hopmarket to host workshops for children

WORCESTER Hopmarket will be hosting a month long series of free workshops for children.

The space on The Foregate will have sessions of free arts and crafts which is delivered by Spare Room Arts, with the theme ‘on the beach’.

On July, 30 there will be a sea crown making workshop made from recycled fabrics for seven plus year olds or cardboard crowns to decorate for younger children.

Tuesday, August, 6 the free arts and crafts workshop will include creating plastic bottle jelly fish, sparkly fish and crabs using recycled materials.

On August, 13 there will be a sun printing workshop which uses the power of the sun to create images.

A summer themed clay workshop which will include printing onto clay using shells and making clay sea creatures will take place August, 20.




Finishing with a summer arts activity favourite, a kite making workshop on August, 27.

Sarah Edwards from Spare Room Arts said: “We are so looking forward to being back in The Hopmarket this summer; last summer was such a success.


“This year’s theme is ‘on the beach’ which has endless possibilities for children. We look forward to welcoming you all.”

Bill Simpson, chairman of The Hopmarket Charitable Trust said: “We are delighted to be hosting another summer of creative activities and events.

“The Hopmarket is a great home for them.

“Such is their success that we have added a further date this year. Free and open to everyone, we look forward to welcoming lots of families again throughout the summer.”
