WORCESTER charity Leukaemia Care will be the focus of a BBC Lifeline appeal film which will be screened on Sunday (February 25).
The ten-minute film will feature the stories of those who have been helped by the Blackpole East charity.
It is hoped the film will encourage others to donate much-needed funds.
The film will be presented by former Strictly Come Dancing Judge Dame Arlene Phillips who lost her own mum to leukaemia when she was just 15 years old.
The charity is the UK’s leading leukaemia helpline, providing advice and support to the 10,000 people diagnosed with the cancer each year, as well as their friends and families.
Interim CEO, Nicole Scully said: “We are so pleased the BBC have chosen to illustrate the valuable work we do in supporting leukaemia patients and their families.
“The stories featured in the film show just how important the charity’s services are in getting people the right support.”
Watch the film on BBC1 at 1.50pm on Sunday and 8.50am on Tuesday.
It will also be available online via BBC iPlayer.
