Worcester Bosch hosted schools for first lego league

WORCESTER Bosch hosted pupils from four local schools for the first lego league explore festival.

On June 14, Worcester Bosch hosted an event designed to inspire young minds with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects.

This scheme, which aims to address the engineering skills gap, saw the participation from 42 children, marking the company’s second successful year of hosting the festival.

The festival brought together students from Nunnery Wood Primary School, Perry Wood Primary School, St Peter’s Academy Droitwich, and Upton Snodsbury First School.

The theme for this year’s event was ‘Masterpiece’, focusing on the intersection of technology and the arts, they learned how to code robots and created posters reflecting this theme.

Reviewers from Worcester Bosch’s STEM team engaged with each group, discussing their projects and awarding prizes to recognise their efforts.

Throughout the event, Worcester Bosch reaffirmed its commitment to fostering interest in STEM fields among young people.

This dedication is part of a broader strategy to narrow the skills gap in engineering and related sectors.

The company’s efforts include widespread training programmes, such as the Cecil Duckworth Apprenticeship scheme, which provides hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring engineers.

Tackling the skills gap early by engaging children with STEM subjects not only builds their confidence but also lays the foundation for future careers in these critical fields.

Worcester Bosch’s involvement in schemes like the first lego league explore festival underscores the importance of such educational engagements.

The festival’s success highlights Worcester Bosch’s ongoing efforts to support educational activities and inspire the next generation of engineers.
