A SUSPECTED thief was quickly apprehended and arrested in Worcester after a woman had her handbag snatched.
The incident happened in a shop in the city this morning.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team (NCFT) swarmed the area after the victim reported the theft while she was at a carpet warehouse on Hallow Road.
Sgt Shaun Blackshaw of the NCFT said: “We identified a suspect and quickly arrested a 45-year-old man from Hallow on suspicion of burglary.
“Thankfully, the victim had her bag given back to her shortly after the incident took place.”
The man was held on suspicion of burglary and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
Officers confirmed they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
