Feedback sought on Worcester's A4440 Southern Link Road improvements

Worcester Editorial 17th Mar, 2024   0

COUNTY chiefs are seeking feedback on the A4440 Southern Link Road improvements.

Worcestershire County Council has launched a survey to gather feedback on the success of phase four of the scheme.

Phase four of the works covered improvements made between Ketch Roundabout and Powick Roundabout.

Improvements during this phase included the dualling of the road, two new bridge structures at Carrington Bridge and Powick Viaduct, the construction of Hams Way footbridge, a new underpass and a new shared-use path along Temeside Way.

The fully dualled road opened up in August 2022.

Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for economy, infrastructure and skills, Coun Marc Bayliss, said: “Before the County Council made the improvements the A4440 Southern Link Road would see major issues with congestion, especially during rush hours.

“Since the works have been completed, we have really seen the difference these improvements make.

“I’ve spoken to plenty of people who have commented on how journey times are now much more reliable or how the addition of greater connectivity is helping them get about the city.”

The survey closes on Friday, April 12.
