THE ANNUAL ‘Elgar for Everyone’ family concert is set to return this month to help music lovers of all ages celebrate one of the world’s greatest composers.
The concert, which will take place as part of the Elgar Festival, will be held at Worcester Cathedral at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 29.
It will bring together more than 100 young musicians from across Elgar Country to perform a varied programme alongside their teachers and mentors from The English Symphony Orchestra.
The youngsters will perform following two days of rehearsals and workshops.
The Festival’s Patron, Julian Lloyd Webber and its artist-in-residence, Esther Abrami, will be co-hosts of the festival and will work with and perform alongside the young musicians.
The concert will also include performances of the Festival’s 2024 Young Composers Competition winners.
The Festival was established by decree of Worcester City Council in 2018 and is traditionally held on the weekend closest to Sir Edward Elgar’s birthday, June 2, 1857.
