A SPECIAL screening of an award-winning documentary which celebrates the life of the Bishop of Worcester’s late wife, Denise Inge has raised over £4,000 for the upkeep of the city’s Cathedral.

‘Life Over Death’ gave over 300 viewers the first-ever look at Worcester’s medieval Charnel House, an underground room filled with hundreds of human remains.

Denise Inge, the late wife of Bishop John Inge, wrote a book on Charnel Houses and the incredible effect living over one had on her life in her final months.

Denise passed away a decade ago.

The Charnel House is thought to be around 1,000 years old and has never been documented photographically.

Guests were also treated to a musical performance by Claire Horáček and David Hatcher from The Linarol Consort of Renaissance Viols.

And the evening ended with a behind-the-scenes video showing how the film was made and a question and answer session with the film crew and Bishop John.
